Heiko is a working dog. He's the overseer of our timber plantation in the Pacific Northwest and he takes his job seriously. He's been shot apprehending a poacher; he's faced off with and treed a cougar, been thrown from the back of an angry bull elk, and kicked by our unruly stallion who resents being herded.
Heiko has had his share of injuries (he's never called in sick), and he's come through them all in fine form, due to uncompromising veterinary care, his superb conditioning and his excellent general health being maintained by a diet of absolutely premium dog food.
We firmly believe that the extra modest cost of providing all our animals with premium pet foods is more than offset by the vet bills we don't pay. This conviction has induced us to spread the word to all you folks who care about your pets. A while ago, Heiko met a girl dog and fell in love. You see her picture here, above. She is Hexa Excel von Hohenzollern. And here to the left is one of their boys. They have four little ones, high spirited, unruly and willfull. And no, they're not for sale. They're going to be a part of the LeQuadrillage staff to demonstrate over time, the reason for providing your animals with the absolute best quality pet food you can find.
Heiko will teach them how to deal with bears, elk, tree poachers, and the occasional stray llama. Hexa will keep them (and Heiko) civilized.

Don't let the Carefree Pet prices scare you away. These pet foods are so nutritionally dense you won't have to feed your pets nearly as much as you do when feeding them ordinary, poorly formulated pet foods. Heiko gets 8 oz of dry dog food twice daily, with supplemental, high quality treats. We have to watch his weight, even with this restrictive routine. Too many treats can quickly make him overweight, even a high energy dog like him. He'll come in from driving a herd of destructive elk out of our stand of young hemlocks and ask for a treat. Seated at my desk, I'll tell him "No! You've had quite enough today!" He'll then come up to me, lay his head in my lap and brown- eye me. He scores every time! Still, we manage to keep him at his optimum weight, largely due to the quality of the food (and treats) he gets. Don't fall for the hype issued by the giant conglommerate food processors about how nutritious their pet foods are. That's simply not true. Numerous reports have reached us about the group of spot on flea and tick killers containing insecticides that have permethrin as the active ingredient. Stories have reached us recounting tragic consequences from their use, ranging from anorexia, brain damage, chemical burns and prolonged, horrible death. While some of these tragedies may have occured through misuse of the product (if a little is good, a lot is better), the reports coming in have been much too numerous to explain the general trend as being due to pet owner misuse of product. Some products, designed to be placed on our pets, carry warning labels stating "harmful if swallowed or absorbed through skin." And yet we're expected to put this stuff on our pets? We don't use any of these products here and we don't believe you should either. See your veterinarian! If you need to address a flea issue on your pets, ask your veterinarian for help. Prescription products that are safe and effective are at hand. They cost a little more, but what is your pet worth to you?
CHEAP, EFFECTIVE HOME FLEA CONTROL
If you're plagued with fleas around the house, here's how to get rid of them quickly, effectively, permanently, and cheaply. It takes a small amount of work. Do this: Go the the market and buy a box (or more, depending on te size of your home) of BORON (That's usually 100% Orthoboric Acid) This stuff is lethal to fleas, flea eggs, and flea larvae. It's harmless to the rest of the family. Any powdered Boron cleaning product will do.
Vacuum your carpets thoroughly. Then, use a broom to sweep the Boron into the carpets. Sweep it in until you can't see it. Let it sit for about three weeks, then vacuum it up, thoroughly. If you should still spot a flea around, repeat this. Bye bye fleas! You can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of this treatment by mixing in 20% Talcum Powder and 20% Table Salt. Both are lethal to fleas and flea eggs. But salt isn't too good for your carpets, so if you do this, be sure to vacuum thoroughly later.
No Carpets? Hardwood Floors? Broadcast it around into corners, under furniture and wherever else fleas will hide and lay eggs. This is a cheap, and very effective way of getting rid of household fleas. Betty
